This room is the first thing many potential students and their parents see when touring the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Illinois and we wanted it to make a lasting impression.

On one side of the space, the story of the department is told through a series of panels attached to a copper pipe that creeps along the wall. The graphic hexagons behind this timeline visually represent the three branches of chemical engineering and help to convey it's meaning and importance.

All throughout the space are hexagon shapes loosely based on chemical structures encountered by these scientists on a daily basis.

On the opposite side of the room is a television monitor on which to display announcements and current events within the department.

Around the whole perimeter of the room, electric stripes race up and down the walls uniting the space with a nod to technology and progression.
